Achilles Kapsalis | The Work

Statement

Achilles Kapsalis is a greek artist who believes in constructing that which is unimaginable, giving life to objects and other materials, primarily those who once had it in the literal sense.

His use of imagination and love for the extraterrestrial acts as a guide to his artistic journey. His ultimate goal is to reach the highest level of escapism from anything deemed "normal" or "traditional" and transform the thoughts existing in his mind into what he calls "psyteks".

The work and title derives from what he values as “two everlasting world mysteries worth their continuous research and exploration”. The first of these being "psycology", and the second part being a state of mind directly associated with the first, "psycotic".

The latter half of the name "psyteks", comes from the words "technology" and "technique". This specific and unique naming of the artwork, further magnifies the hybrid existence of his sculptural forms.

“In a nutshell, the end result, is a combination of my healthy version of what an artistic "psycosis" is and the way I experience it as an artist, along with my view of mechanics, futuristic technology and my own signature when it comes to technique. And that is "PSYTEKS".  ACHILLES KAPSALIS
