Coming from punk and rock culture, Yann Sciberras’ work is cutting, offbeat and definitely urban. Ecological, political, social protests, a kick in the nest of the consumer society, his art is a stream of signs, images, words, warnings, without standing out as a moralist but as a witness of our contemporary society. He opens to the world via drawing, vivid colours, words used as slogans but also as a form of urban poetry. He uses his paintings as a real communication tool.
Yann SCIBERRAS’ work is incisive, unwedged and definitely urban. For two consecutive years (2011 and 2012),in partnership with the RATP ,Yann Sciberras exhibits 16 works in parisian subway on line 14 (stations : Madeleine, Gare de Lyon, Bercy and Pyramides).
Guest of honour at HUGO BOSS, the artist paints live during the VOGUE FASHION NIGHT OUT 2012. In 2012 the French TV channel TF1 asks Yann Sciberras to sum up the news of the year on a canvas within a five-hour performance. The report, entitled « Retrospective en Peinture », is broadcasted on December the 31st on the TV News at 8.00 pm. The painting (2 x 2 meters) hangs in the TF1 editorial office.VIEW
