Joe Chen | The Work

Statement

Miss Joe Chen is a Chinese artist living and working in London. Supposed to be a TV presenter but she followed her heart and dream and what she was born to be – an artist. Joe Chen makes work with mixed media and in a large range of different styles, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, etc… she makes art out of anything that she comes across, even food. She is also a composer and a writer.

The art works are all about recreating, converting, rebuilding and reallocating, it is to find a new space and a new form for the past, for everything and everyone from the past. Joe Chen is an artist full of stories and adventures, and she makes art out of them, she tells stories with her works. 
Whatever lives in her memory, she gives it a new life, a new life in art. Art is her life.
