KARL LARSSON | THE WORK
STATEMENT
Karl Larsson’s documentations of his environment take the form of photography and the playback of thousands of images a minutes in his video works. Larsson has for years worked with the quantitative expression of the photography as a reflection on the current consumption of the image. However, not as a criticism but as a technique to explain the significance of the number of today.
Karl uses the action of the past in photography and presents it in the presence of a contemporary speed in moving images. An image is “1” in a stream of digits, digit reform has changed the time and so the image due to Karl Larsson.
