Matt Spencer | The Work

Statement

My work has developed from a long seeded interest in how images in the media form our notions of what reality is and in turn how this affects the value we place on objects and materials. It explores a metaphorical gap between how our world is represented to us and how we understand it. My work is often tongue in cheek and ironic, poking fun at itself, its subject and the often absurd nature of art itself.
