SOPHIE MOLINS | THE WORK
STATEMENT
Sophie Molins is an artist who lives and works in London. She has taught for many years, most recently as a Senior lecturer in photography at The University of Roehampton. Molins works with photography film and found objects. With an eye for the surreal Molins work focuses on the physical minutiae of our culture, mundane items that exist in the background of our lives; text, animals, net curtains, windows and hands. Through her art practice she reframes the objects, stripping them of their original meaning to exposes human needs, shortcomings and vulnerabilities.
