Statement
Born in 1958, Tacy Kneale is the daughter of writer Nigel Kneale (Quatermass) and the writer illustrator Judith Kerr (Mog the Forgetful Cat and The Tiger who came to Tea).
Tacy trained as an actress at The Central School of Speech and Drama and afterwards appeared regularly in theatre and on television, making the front page of the Daily Mirror in 1986 for her role in the controversial BBC drama Dead Head.

To improve her skills she went to art classes, studying life drawing, painting and illustration. The skills she had acquired painting metal and her experience in the film industry studying hair coming together in one creature.
In the last four years, Tacy Kneale has been shortlisted both for the RA Summer Show and NOAC, as well as for a prize in the David Shepherd Wildlife artist of the year exhibition. She has also shown at The Coningsby Gallery in 2008 and 2009, Nautilus Gallery Rochester in 2008 and at The Marine Studios in Margate in 2010. In 2011 she took part in another show at Marine Studios and also had paintings accepted for The Cork Street Open exhibition and for NOAC.
