Management & Operations Associate
The Role: Debut Contemporary Gallery is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Management & Operations Associate with creative vision and ability to lead and manage the West London based gallery space and our professional development programme, with a small and vibrant team. You must have ambition and determination to explore new ideas and are passionate about the development and growth of the company. You also have excellent communication and telephone manner and are confident dealing with a broad range of people. You will assist develop the business into the next phase with a state of the art website and e-commerce platform, the opening of a second space in Mayfair and international exhibitions, whilst maintaining a solid local base in the Notting Hill community. Your role will be to supervise the operation of the establishment; to ensure that the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
– Excellent communication and organisational skills.
– Strong knowledge of Excel as well as design editing software such as Photoshop.
– Confident in handling finances and basic accountancy.
– Competent at editing written text for press and publication.
– Experience in online sales strategies (roles at Net-a-Porter or ASOS ideal)
– Experience in curating desired but not essential.
– Previous experience in a similar role will be beneficial but not essential.
The ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively is paramount. Working front of house at peak times and dealing with administration and client relationship management during any down time.
Hours are based on a 40 hour week working between the hours of 10am and 7pm, with flexibility for business needs. This is a six day working operation and you will be expected to be part of the operation at weekends as required. 11am to 7pm on a Saturday 12am to 5pm on a Sunday (once opened).
We are seeking a committed, confident, positive individual with a mature attitude and outlook, who is very well presented – standards for grooming are expected to be at a six star standard, and willing to go the extra mile.
You should be resilient and able to deal with challenges taking a proactive approach to ensure standards of service are maintained at all times.
Hours: Full time. Weekdays and weekends (Saturdays a must), including additional evening events.
Starting salary: £18,000-£23,000 + annual bonus and possible share options
The role is available to begin immediately.
